Geosciences Ph.D. Students Awarded Summer Dissertation Fellowship

Congratulations to Debajeet Barman and Zhao Wang, recipients of the 2022 Summer Dissertation Fellowship. This fellowship is offered by the Graduate School to graduate students who are near completion. The stipend award allows the students to devote themselves fully to their projects without needing summer employment. Summer Dissertation Fellows also attend the week-long Dissertation Lab and participate in bi-weekly writing groups. The Dissertation Lab includes extended periods of writing punctuated by breaks for motivation and feedback, with breakfast and lunch provided. Held during the week after May Commencement, it is intended to provide an initial boost of progress, establish productive habits, and initiate the writing group support framework.
