Research Areas

Research in the Department of Geosciences focuses on understanding different aspects of the Earth system and other planets in our solar system. The six major research themes explore all aspects of Earth and planetary processes from the dynamics of the mantle and crust, to tectonics and volcanism, to water and surface processes, to energy resources, to climate and life on Earth today and in the past. Many of these research themes are involve multiple researchers, which has resulted in ongoing interdisciplinary research and collaborations.
